Greetings, everyone,
my name is Mary Ojala, and I am the Spanish teacher at Creative Arts
High School. It is my pleasure to bring a multicultural and bilingual
emphasis to this great learning venue. A bit about me...
I began
to study Spanish at the age of 10in Mendota Heights, MN, and loved it right from the start. I
have always found it fascinating to use a new system of communication
to learn about the world. I have earned a B.A. in the language from the
University of MN. Later, I earned an M.A. in Multicultural Ed. and ESL
from Northern Arizona University. I began teaching in 1990 in Phoenix,
where my Spanish was honed through daily use.
My focus at CAHS
is to develop in our students the valuable skill of having a second
language, which will give them a profound advantage in the future.
Along
the way, I seek to heighten cultural awareness and appreciation of all
cultures. Of course, we have fun along the way learning and using Spanish.
