| AP English | | | | www.wmich.edu/dialogues/images/englishteacher.jpg | Advanced Placement English is a rigorous, exciting course that prepares students for college-level English courses, as well as the annual AP Exam in Literature and Composition. Courses are developed around themes such as "Good and Evil" and "What is Truth?" We read novels, essays, drama and poetry from authors spanning a variety of time periods and cultures. Assignments involve careful reading, lively discussions, and thoughtful essays.
This course is required for students who wish to take the AP Exam in Literature and Composition, given in May of each year. However, students who take the course are not required to take the test. The primary benefit of this course is having the chance to prepare for the rigor of college-level English courses in the supportive setting of Creative Arts High School. Any student who enjoys reading and writing, and is willing to work hard, is welcome to join us!
